Maxtor RMA Woes..

So my 200 gig 7month maxtor is slowly deing (some pictures corrupt, OS wont boot off it, some files unreadable, etc), and I go to RMA it. They require an error code from a bootable dos program. The catch is, it doenst work on Nforce4, Nforce3, or raid connectors. Advice? I really have no idea what to do in this situation. It doenst make sense either...

They have an ISO that worked fine on my nF4 board. I'd be danged if I found it now though.
Also, I was able to RMA with them without a code before, i think.

You might try ultimate boot disk.
Do a search for it.

Tell them that the disk isn't being recognized by the bios any more. Tell them it is really messed up and you lost all your valuable data. When I was going through my RMA, that was my problem and they just sent me a new one.

But for clarification, you do need a code:
"NOTE: SATA/ATA DRIVES ONLY. To receive an RMA you must have a PowerMax Diagnostic Code that indicates drive failure. To obtain this code, please download and run the PowerMax program. This procedure could save you the time and expense of exchanging a drive that is not defective."

"Note: PowerMax will identify drives connected to most Promise, CMD, and Highpoint ATA or SATA controllers. Powermax v 4.21 will not detect ATA or SATA hard disks connected to embedded or add in RAID controllers, NVIDIA Force 3, or Force 4 chipsets. If the hard disk is connected to an unsupported controllers, it will have to be moved to an alternate system or controller for diagnosis."
