just got a new maxtor diamondmax 9 plux sata to replace a dead one. the hd is identified just fine in the bios, but i run into problems trying to install it in windows. i've tried the maxblast progrem, but it crashes whenever i try to run it. any other solutions?
btw, the one i'm trying to install is a second hd, i already have one that works fine

well, i've installed the MaxBlast 3 (for windows) progrem, but as i said, every time i try to run it, it gives me this message-
maxblast.jpg

i then tried to create the maxblast boot disk/cd as they suggest, but when i try to boot with it, it writes:
"Self-Checking c:\XBIOS.exe **OK**
Please wait, analysing Hard disk subsystems"
and it halts there (i dunno, i gave it about 2 hours and nada)

everytime i boot into windows, it gives me the "found new hardware" message and asks for driver, but it didn't found anything when i asked it to search for some
this is basicly what i've tried to do

Okay, run the program I linked to. It's not the MaxBlast program, but it will probably find the problem you're having.
