Small problem, there is 40 gigs worth of MP3's

(yes they're legit, mostly from Itunes and CD's i have long since thrown out)

Plus my wife's modeling pictures.

Windows sees it on the hardware list but i cannot access it on any computers. I have tried hooking it to an ATA cable inside the computer and to a usb case, nothing.

It is making noises but it is not being recognized.

Oh yes a MAC sees it, but cannot access it either.

Suggestions...PLEASE!

Doesn't Maxtor have any diagnostic tools or something? See if they do and run them on the drive.


Unfortunately, one of those data-extracting services might be in order. :(

Send me some wifey modeling pictures and we can help you a little better ;)

I say freeze it overnight and then give it a go.
 
Go to the Windows Administrative Tools Disk Management program and see what it says there.
