Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 Noisy?

I have a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 160GB SATA-150, I've had it about 7-8 months. From the very beginning I thought this thing was loud, compared to my old Deskstar. My friend puchased a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 80GB I believe shortly after and his sounds nice and quite.

I have ran HDTach 3 along with several other benching progs and they all show good scores. When im loading a game level/map it makes the normal grinding sound a hd makes but really loud. Maybe im worried about nothing? Anyone else have one of these and notice similar effects? Maybe its difference in case.. I have a coolermaster and my friend has a lian li. Thanks.
 
Perhaps it is a vibration issue? As long as you're not having loud clicks or severe grinding, that may just be how your drive sounds.
