Maxtor 8MB and 16MB buffer

Does anyone know if there is a major difference between the Maxtor ATA 150 models that contain 8MB versus 16MB buffer? There is such a major price swing between the models. I was hoping to use the 200GB/8MB buffer model for my system drive and the 300GB/16MB model for my storage drive. Or is it better to just spend the money and get both 16MB models.
 
The 16MB drives are going to deliver an across the board performance boost. The 16MB drives deliver 15-20% better performance over 8MB units in bootup, office, and high-end multitasking, and a bonus of over 10% in game level loading. The 16MB units are worth it IMO. I got this data from StorageReview. You may look at the results yourself. The first two drives are 16MB buffer (one with NCQ and one without) the third is a MaxLineII Plus 8MB, and the fourth is a somewhat dated 160GB 8MB DiamondMax unit. More I/O sec, the better.
