I thought i posted this once, but i guess i messed something up. Anyways... I've recently installed a maxtor HDD as the primary drive on the secondary ide channel on my motherboard. BIOS and Windows detected it fine and installed the drivers and what not and device manager says its working properly but it won't show up in My Computer. Is there something i need to do to format it or something? Any help as to how I can actually get access to it and start using it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

I would try to reformat the drive. I sintalled my Maxtor 200 gig drive before partioning and formatting it and it did not show up but after doing those 2 things it did show up.

Assuming your using 2000 or XP, just go into Drive Management in the MMC and create partitions/format it as you wish. My Computer is not going to show the drive unless it has a valid partition on it.
