MAX1000 fixed?

Looking at getting this, is the problem with microsecond lag when lifted/dropped fixed?
Is it only certain revisions?
Basically, if I buy a MX1000 on newegg today, will I get a mouse that doesn't have the microsecond lag?
(have a MX700 right now)
and just for clarities sake, the MX1000 charge/reciever will connect with my wireless elite KB (MX duo KB) right?
 
Every M1000 will have this lag, until they eliminate the safety feature that the laser turns off when up in the air.
 
I question the truth to the above post, many people claim to have no lag in the mouse while lifting. I am one of them.

Mine never had lag at all.

ditto I havent had any issues with mine at all. best mouse I have ever had.
 
well I trutst 3 first hand accounts more than 1 second hand.
So next time Im home I'll make the deposit and order one.
 
I do have an MX1000, if you go across a mousepad, putting it down for only a little tiny amount of time in the middle, raising it up after a little tiny time, going back and forth, the cursor never moves... There's a video of it somewhere, if I find it, I'll link it.
 
Has anyone tryed to mod the mx1000 to disable the safety? Just don't look into it like that one stupid ass did. :rolleyes: (Thread from about a month ago)

Also, afaik the mx duo base is not compatable with the mx1000. Either get the 3100 kit or leave the KB base behind the desk and keep the mx1000 base upfront for charging.

Now you got me curious. Im assuming the safty is the IR LED that shows up in the photos, im guessing without looking at the mouse (its downstairs and im LAZY) that the IR is being picked back up by an opticouple of some sort. Then its as easy as either shorting the opticoupler to force high state all the time, or removing it to force a low state, depending on how the safty works.

im willing to attempt the mod if someone is willing to paypal me the money if i screw my mx1000 up! :D
 
I really thought that wasn't a safety issue, more of a power saving issue. Either way, I've never seen an optical mouse that doesn't do that. This old ass MS Optical explorer does it.

I doubt you'll have any problems.
 
The way i lift my mouse when moving it, there is 0 lag. If there is lag, it's either the older models or drivers. I bought mine recently and updated drivers.

Also i heard the mouse was compatible with the keyboard/mouse duo.
