ive posted this in the overclocking forum but got no replies at all.. so i'm just wondering if there is a maximum voltage rating that the A64 3000+ newcastle can handle, i couldn't find it in the datasheets on amd's website.. thanks

Hi Karnick,

Recommended is 1.5v and I think with proper cooling 1.65-1.70 is possible. I run my A64 2800+ Newcaslte at 1.55v on stock cooling at 2.2 and temps maxout at 51C under load. I've gone up to 1.6v but temps were getting a little high for everyday use.

depends on the cooling.
as was said, 1.6v might be a bit much for stock colling, but i'd be willing to run it there
with high end air cooling, over 1.7v starts just making more heat and not increasing the mhz to make it worth it.
with water, i'd go to 1.8v
phase change.. however much you want. ;)
