I just removed all my water cooling from my box in sig, I am now using the stock heatpipe x2 heatsink/fan. I have my cpu at 1.49v running at 2.6ghz. so far for 45 minutes of prime on each core and no failures the max temp I have seen is 52c. This safe you all think?

thats good to know, but just noticed.. my motherboard temp is 71c, sheesh.. that normal?
I am using Everest Home Edition to report temps.

download coretemp

only temp monitor to read from the on die temp sensor not on the motherboard under the socket.... way more accurate...

i would not let coretemp go over 65*C it usually will be 5-15*C over what speedfan MBM5 or and ITE software will read.....

so check it out..
i know right now coretemp on one core is 5*C hotter than the other core... and speedfan kind of averages them out to give a temp..

coretemp is showign 63C on both cores with load, been over an hour running now prime95 on each core

yeah seems good... no higher but fine right now....

i find coretemp to be much better

You are wrong. If a mobo does not have an in socket temp sensor, how would ANY software read from there and not the on die sensor? MBM5 reads from the ON DIE sensor output and can be calibrated to be pretty accurate, if you know what you are doing.

ANY software is only as good as the calibration, so your stuff may not be any better than any other. Stop spreading FUD.
