max "safe" temps for i7?

I am overclocking an i7 system for someone else. I don't have any previous experience with i7 so I am interested what are "max temperatures" for this CPUs?

With current OC max temps for each core are: 86°, 84°, 82° and 80° C after 30 mins of pirme95 small FFTs torture test.
 
Technically it's 100c I think... your computer will just shut down or throttle at that point...

But you gotta take into account what programs they use and what temperatures you'll actually see in normal usage... you could just run real-temp non-stop and see what the maximum temperatures actually reach (without running prime95 or another stress testing program)
 
I think those temps are fine for stress testing - remember your CPU won't reach that level under realistic load. Might wanna recheck those temps when it's hot though - ambient temperatures can affect load temps quite a bit, at least they do for me.
 
He does a lot of 3D rendering so I have to take into consideration that all cores may be under full load for hours.

I was running it @4095MHz with CPU voltage set to 1.275 Volts in BIOS (shows as 1.264 in CPU-Z), but one thread crashed in prime after 43 mins (soon after I posted the first message). I have lowered CPU to 4000Mhz for now. I am wondering if it would be safe to rise CPU voltage instead (considering the temps)? CPU is only air cooled (Mugen 2) and case has two 120mm fans installed (front & rear).
 
I would try and keep things below 90C with an i7 chip just to have some headroom in case the temperature spikes up a bit. Anything below 100C is perfectly safe for continuous operation. The only thing you have to worry about is voltage, and you can take that up to 1.5V safely.

I upped CPU & QPI/DRAM voltages a bit and prime has been running now for 4h without problems. Max temps are: 87°,86°,84°,81°C @4Ghz. Ambient temperature has gotten quite high too, because I closed a window and now the room isn't ventilated :)
