Hi@all

I´ve buyed an Essence ST Sound Card and need one PCI port to connect the card.
I´m thinking to change my actual G1SniperM3 for a Asrock Z77M or Asus P8H77-M LE.
What do you think about those Motheboards? Any other socket1155 recomendation? Are there better motheboards in Socket 1150?

I use my computer as a HTPC with little overclock.

Thanks !

I'd sell the card and move to a USB solution. PCI ports will get rarer and rarer.

Sorry but sell the card is not a solucion for me.
I need 7 analog RCAs from Essence ST + H6.

PCI slots are going the way of the DoDo bird...Better to adapt now, rather than be in this same exact quandry next generation.

HDMI audio is not possible because audio channel signal go out straight from RCA to Active Speakers.
Xonar HDav 1.3 could be a solution but it is discontinued.

I don´t want ultra highend PC just a poweful HTPC. What do you think about those motheboards?

Good lord. Just answer his question.

Any one of those boards would be a good board. I usually buy in this order
MSI, Gigabyte, Asus
I have not had an Asrock, but their quality lately seems to have been much better. The H77 chipset is great for HTPC with lots of features.

Since literally no-one else has even attempted to address your original question,

I would say between the two of the ones you presented as options, I'd go with the ASRock. It's literally an HTPC mobo. It has an IR header, more USB ports, and FIVE fan headers. The ASRock directly targets HTPC builds. Also, if you ultimately decided to shit-can the audio solution you're dead-set on at the moment, you'd probably be happier with the ASRock unit since it has better on-board audio.

However, in defense of the Asus, the location of the SATA ports seems more logical to me (although this could depend greatly on the case and more specifically the GPU that you're using). Also, it's slightly smaller (0.3") than the ASRock so there's a tiny bit of extra wiggle room around the board for cables n' shit if need be.

TL;DR - I'd get the ASRock for myself in your shoes

HDMI is possible for what you want. http://www.accessories4less.com/mak...-Channel-Network-Home-Theater-Receiver/1.html

You can get a receiver and use the pre-outs out to your active monitors. As a bonus, you now have an HDMI switch that can be used for other components.

Have you considered using something like this?

http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Express-Adapter-Card-PEX1PCI1/dp/B0024CV3SA

They also have cabled versions if you need to use a full height card.

Yes but i can´t find any review to see specs, latency... etc
Where can i find a cabled version? Do you think is better option than to change motheboard?
Thanks !

Too much extra money.

Other people thanks for your advices, I think Asrock is best option.

Sorry, for some reason I read this as "mITX", I've come to think that SFF only includes ITX systems these days :D

In your case, it's probably cheaper/better to just get a motherboard with a pci slot. Something like this is really cheap:

I'm not sure of your exact needs though, but there's ~30 mATX LGA1155 motherboards listed on NewEgg with a PCI slot. You're likely to find something.

Make sure that if you go with the ASRock that you have room in your case for drive cables coming out of those 90 degree sata connectors.

Are there any motheboard (ATX or mATX) with nvidia graphic integrated chipset?

I don't think nVidia have made chipsets like this since at least the last five years.

What's wrong with the Intel integrated graphics?

I need more power for HTPC use (upscalers, sharpeners, motion interpolations)... but i wouldnt like to put a dedicated graphic card...

Your only option is to go with AMD then. There's no nVidia onboard solution. Why don't you want to use a dedicated card?

Oh yeah, and my past couple of mobo's have been Asrock. Great value for money, good build quality. Recommended.
