Does the footprint for a MATX motherboard work in an ATX case? Thanks in advance. I can't seem to find with 10 minutes of searching any solution on this question.

Its going to depend on your case, might want to triple-check the case just to be sure....

It'll say on it, but more than likely it will work.

The atx standards are downwards compatible, if a case supports eatx, it will support all atx boards, if it's atx it will support all boards atx and smaller, etc...etc....I have never seen or heard of a someone having poblems putting a smaller form factor atx board in a case designed for larger boards.

I've done it, although sometimes a couple mounts are missing in cheap cases.

All the cases i've come across allow for ATX and Micro ATX. This should work

I built a computer for my best friend's brother. He bought a fairly nice Soyo ATX case and I installed a Shuttle mATX board in the system. Works fine, my friend is fixing to upgrade to a full ATX case so he can add additional hard drives (and I get my $280 Coolermaster back :p)

Agreed. You won't have a problem with a good case, but you never know what you're getting if you get a cheap case.

Agreed, mATX fits in most ATX cases without problems. It's the cheaper ones you might have issues with.
