matx case

hi,

i am looking to build a new gaming pc but want to do it as a matx system that could later be used as an htpc or media server etc.

i am mainly looking to find the right case. i saw the mods done on the coolermaster elite 340 on this site and that looked awesome. but that case is discontinued. i would love to be able to get two 120mm fans in the front of a matx case with one 120mm as exhaust in the back. are there any affordable solutions for doing that? i wouldn't mind a little modding of a case. its actually the only thing i have really never tried over the years and so it could be kind of fun to do someday. thanks for any suggestions.

You could go with the newer CM 341:
$40 - Cooler Master Elite 341 RC-341C-KKN1-GP mATX Tower Case

And then mod the case like it was done in this worklog (Similar internals so it should still work):

The antec nsk 3480 fits just about erything you are looking for. its got the rear 120mm and two ports on the front for 92mm fans which you could mod to fit 2 120s. Also you could cut some holes for cable management .i know that you seem to want to mod but just as a side suggestion the mini p180 which although isnt too cheap, would make for a good gaming machine case. it has the two 120mm front fans that you are looking for and a 200mm top fan. There arent to many cases that support 2 120mm fans on the front that are mATX without modding

yeah i am looking for more affordable than that. if i was going to spend that much i would probably just buy a SILVERSTONE TJ08 which seems to be identical to the elite 340 except the exterior appearence, but it msrp's for $99 on newegg, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811163058&Tpk=tj-08

cm elite 340 is the same as TJ-08
tj-08 has only cut out holes for fans and ALU front panel with USB on front
when I bought my cm340 its was 3x more cheaper than tj08

Depending on how urgent it's needed, Fry's had these at $50 shipped a few months ago. Great cases but not sure why they had to go the sideways front inputs with dual 92mm fans...would have preferred it to have come with at least a single 120mm up front with standard placement of the inputs.

yeah i knew about that site but if you actually add it to your cart it shows out of stock. it also would cost over $20 even with the cheapest shipping to have one shipped to me if it was in stock.

people have said its different depending on where you live. its over $20 for me. newegg doesn't really have me spoiled because i hardly ever get things like free shipping from them because what I want never has free shipping when I go to get it. And their case shipping is usually fairly expensive.
