What do you prefer.

Glossy (pianolack), Matte(black) or Matte(grey) screenframe?

I prefer any kind of black. It's kind of funny; I used a 21 Sony CRT for 5 or 7 years and never even thought about it's large silver bezel. Now I notice it when I use it.

I have a 52 inch Samsung LN52A650 TOC red and I like it alot in spite of the fact that the screen and panel are very glossy.

I prefer a glossy screen over matte, but I know that was not the question.

Black matte frame with matte screen. I mostly don't care about what color or finish the frame is (I only really care about the screen) but that's what I'd pick if given the choice.

The reason I wonder is because before I have always had matte screenframe but now I have glossy black (2493HM) and I have to say that I prefer Black Matte.

Glossy FTW!

It makes the screen fantastic to look at. Can't understand why people prefer matte. Yeah, you get less reflections, but is that worth it, when you get a picture looking harsh and ugly with matte?

I think I prefer glossy in general. Some matte finishes are very noticeable and, for me, quite offensive. But others are rather unobtrusive.

I wonder why all the professional level monitors for graphic editing are matte? They must know something about good quality images.

I much prefer matte screens. No annoying and distracting reflections.

It all depends on the environment. I sit in a fairly dark room (just close the blind a bit) so glossy is good for me! Plus I just like the way it makes everything have that "pop" to it. Matte is fine as well to me; I'm not too picky about the screen just as long as the picture quality is great.
