Matroska or OGG?

Heya, I'm currently reinstalling all my stuff after getting some new HDs.

I used to have both Matroska and OGG installed at the same time. When playing videos in media player 9, it sometimes shows the audio codec of AVI files as morgan stream switcher. Also clicking videos in explorer causes a glitch in the system tray as if its trying to load the vobsub plugin.

I also noticed an ugly icon in media player 9, its where the green play arrow would normally be, next to the ready/buffering status. I cant describe it well, it just looks like an 8 on its side.

So does anyone know whether it was Matroska or OGG which caused this? I'd appreciate it, so I dont end up nuking my new install :D

I cant even get matroska to work by itself let alone with OGG.:mad: OGG is so much better that Matroska anyway so ill live with it. I know when i tried to use matroska it would try to play both audio streams at once. video was fine but the sound was fubared. do they work fine by themselves?
 
I actually find they work fine together, there was an instance where it played both audios at once, but ive not had it since.
Something's fubared. and whatever container it is, its the one that makes WMP9 show the green 8 on its side, and gives me that morgan stream switcher crap when i view the properties of a video file.
 
hmm, try just using media player classic, it has splitters built into it so it doesn't have to deal with direct show filters.
 
Matroska owns once you get it working which was a bitch for me. However, definately get Media Player Classic. Media Player 7 and up just downright suck.
