Matrix themed mods too "Overdone"?

I was talking with one of my friends last night and i had a great idea for my future case's color scheme. Basicly it involves green on black matrix code. My friend thought that stuff relating to the matrix has been beaten into the ground.

Now im not talking anything tacky. But i want to know in genral what does the community think about matrix baised mods? Are they old and should i attempt to do something else? or do you think a well done and clean mod would look good and be innovateve with something relating to the matrix?

I havent seen many matrix mods (then again im not claiming that i have seen every case mod ever), so personally i dont think its too overdone, but what do you all think?
 
yes, gor for it, and when ytour done....PICS:D Honestly I haven't seen any matrix themed mods yet.
 
Theres a few floating around, the one that everyone went mental over I thought was pretty o_O but hey, thats me.

Personally, I hate the matrix series now because reloaded was so bad compared to the first movie :| fools! Great concept, then add heaps of stupidly done CG where you can see his coat is textures when hes flying (woot, go for a fly) and take out all the essientially cool stuff from the first one~!!!

Do one on the first matrix i reckon, get an old black rotary phone to go in the case too :D that'd be pimp, especially if you used a more pale CCFL, perhaps a white with lime green cellophane... oohh theres possibilities there ;) You could go for broken down 30's style... well, thats what I'd do :)

I dont think it has ever been done, or atleast I have never seen one. I think that if it was properly done it could look kickass
 
That background is too busy.

In any rate, it's probably been done. That and after the first episode, the Matrix itself was overdone and blah.

i dunno who the original maker of the mushrooms are but it surely wasn't me :cool:

i took the original blue picture and put a matrix lettering crap and turned it into what it is...

in other words.. photoshop :)
 
it's not that the matrix theme is overdone, it's just an old idea. Modding thrives off new and creative stuff.

I agree. But on that score, there's not much thriving going on, because I haven't seen anything truly new turn up in a couple of years (feel free to enlighten me if you happen to know of any really innovative recent mods).

i think something like a polished black case with the matrix code running down it would be cool, maybe a window with some green lighting.

GOD dont get me started on that "case"! how OOGLY can we get here? i mean dont get me wrong i know alotta time and effort was put into that but to me its just tasteless after a point. now a nice SOHO tower or something all nice and painted up and done correctly and tastefully would look awesome. if you could get a lime green glow effect maybe...my mind runs wild with what could be done. but to the extent of the link above...ugggh...

Your pritty close to my idea here, but not exactly :D actually, im trying to decied now if im going to use matrix code or binary to do what i want, Black on green binary would look cool too
 
Matrix mods have definitely been done. But most of them have been in the realm of out-there-custom cases... I have yet to see a traditional casemod done with a matrix theme that was any good.
 
Go for it man. Id like to see a good matrix case. Its all about what you want and like. What we think shouldnt stop you from modding. If you like it, go with it. :cool:

ROFL..."A nice soho tower"?...'lime green glow effect"? is this extent of your imagination and taste?... :D Yeesh..didnt use up too many brain cells thinking about that one. :p Please...do tell us what is "correct' ?

Matrix themes will always be fun and popular, but if you're going to do it, you only need to look inside yourself for inspiration. Good luck with the project!
