I'm still running a s939 system due to having two young kids and a single income family right now.
My Opteron 144 (single core) is running 2.9 Ghz on my A8N32-SLI with 1.5 gigs of ram.
It's about as quick as anything single-core can be, but obviously showing its age.
Obviously, there's the possibility of going SLI if that's the cost-effective thing, but I kinda doubt it.
As of now, I'm thinking 4850, some flavor of 8800 or 9800 GT or ???
Would my platform be able to get most of the performance out of those cards? I've seen some scaling comparisons, but nothing uses modern cards with a CPU as old as mine.
