I spent hours searching through this forum and google I can't come up with anything
I got 2x Maxtor 300GB Drives (w/ 16mb cache, ncq, mhx[some proprietary bullcrap I guess]) and an Asus A8N-SLI.
I want to make a RAID 0 array but, what is the reccomended strip size for all around power use? The reason I ask is because NCQ is fairly new to ATA drives and I can't find any comparisons and I want to know if this has any effect ie: strip sizes more likely used for scsi drives. One more thing there are two sata controllers. The Silicon Image 3114R RAID controller and the nForce 4, I'm assuming maybe the Silicon Image controller runs more independently (hogs less CPU cycles) resulting in more speed. Is this true?
