Weird.
So I had this 60GB SSD and was going to put it in a laptop I have. This *new* SSD gave me a master boot record error, which didn't bother me because I was going to wipe it anyway.
So I stick the 60GB ssd in my main rig to format it. Go to reboot my PC and I get a master boot record failure on my main rigs SSD.
I remove the 60GB SSD and attempt to restart, but no good, MBR failure. I had to boot up a Win7 DVD and repair the MBR. Also, fixing it with the Win 7 disc took several attempts with different error messages each time about incompatible operating system, UEFI stuff that never was configured and such, I almost suspect that my BIOS saw the *new* 60GB drive and went berzerk. I did go into my bios and disabled UEFI and even though it said I didn't make any changes the MBR repair worked after that.
Any thoughts on why this would have happened?
