Poeple People, new here, and I need more cooling for my computer. my cpu cooler right now is alright, but I know I can do better. It's a jet 7, and only runs half speed, cause the speedometer broke, and I was thinking about a variety of coolers:
Aerocool Dp-102
Aerocool 102le( the gold plated one)
Aerocool HT-101
Swiftech heatsink( the big amd one)
Thermalright slk900A heatsink
Thermaltake Pipe101

keep in mind I left out the ones with the mounting holes, cause my mobo doesn't have any. I'm looking for like the best one to overclock my mobile 2500 athlon, and the best looking for my case at my lan I'm gonna throw
 
i would get the Thermaltake pipe10. if you cant get an Sp because of lack of mouting holes this is the next best thing.
 
oh yeah the thermaltake heatpipe101, I would but it's not in on newegg, and I don't wanna wait. Hey whatabout the aerocool dp-102.

I too was in the market for a massive copper heatsink not to long ago, I considered the aerocool dp-102 however after a less then positive review by somebody, (not sure where I saw the review …somewhere in google) it was shown that due to the lack of Motherboard mounting holes any slight disturbance to your case will cause the HSF to RIP the Socket completely off the motherboard. Further it was believed that for the beast heatpipe performance the heatpipe should be vertical…as well heat has a tendency to rise, thus to achieve optimal performance a horizontal mounting should not be considered. My ultimate choice was to purchase the SP-97 with a 120MM fan along with a 92-120mm adapter to mount this fan and to alleviate the dead zone found in most HSF’s

And www.overclockers.com/articles373/ has some great information on how the various HSF compare to each other, Thermalright takes the top 6 spots – with both the slk900, and sp-97 in the one and two position.

Oh BTW, xoxide.com has the heatpipe101 along with some other various heatpipe and non heatpipe related HSF’s.
 
thermalright xp-120, its new and better than the sp-97

I forgot to say that it is aluminum, not copper
 
yeah the thermalright looks like the best one to date, I don't wanna get another tornado though(already have one cooling my 5900) oh idea!: I can connect 2 high rated uv 80mm fans to get better cooling, how's that, cause I just don't want all black. Oh yeah the fans I can slap one on another.
 
the thermalright xp-120 is only for intel is it not. and the SP-97 needs mounting holes in your mobo that you do not have.
if i were you i would go with the ALX-800 Socket-A. it is quite light so it doesnt need the mounting hole and it wont be jumping around if you take it to lan. most likely the best bang for buck CPU cooler on the market. Read some reviews on it, it is a very good product.
also you didnt tell me your mobo so make sure it is on this list. http://www.thermalright.com/

The XP-120 will be for P4 / 478 AND A64 FX / A64. It won't be for Socket A. From Thermalright's website:

AMD: Athlon64 FX 3200+/Athlon64 3200+ and above
Intel: Pentium-4 socket-478 3.2 GHz and above

You can't go wrong with any of Thermalright's coolers. In my opinion they make the best air-cooled HS on the market. I've bought a SLK-800A and an SLK-900A and have been very happey with both of them. Now I'm waiting for the XP-120 for new Socket 754. I just hope the damn thing fits without too much modding, that sucker is huge.

Best bet IMO is the SLK-900A.
 
hmmm... I have an albatron kx18-d pro. I don't see albatron on the list though. But for the slk 900A it says the revision II. They're the exact same mother baord, just one has a tcp and mcp or something like that connector while mine has a regulat mcp. I liked my jet 7 for the time being, but the biggest problemo with it is the bad heatsink and the fact I can't crank it up higher cause the speed contoller broke. looks like the slk900a is the best one for me
