so there was a thread on this forum about someone needing a 200mm fan, jokingly or unjokingly someone put this beast.

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1..._CAB_706_-_High_Speed_600_CFM.html?tl=g36c265

Now, i have a antec 1200 case that i bought the first week of its release, and to be honest, i haven't taken the best care of it. the fans have slowed down alot even after cleaning. I was thinking about fooling around with one of those fans and taking the 200mm out, and just setting that thing on top, plugged into the wall lol. i know itll be loud, ect. think i'd notice a difference in temps?

Intake or exhaust? :p

it would be loud but yes you will see a temperature drop how much is unknown

there isnt much reason why you cannot use them, people not too long ago used to put old school box fans infront of there pc with no EMI issues whatsoever that the poster on the other thread mentioned. And those types of fans used very cheap motors.Like i mentioned on the other thread you may use an autotransformer if you choose to slow it down

my warning to make sure you dont have loose pets, pieces of plastic, etc inside or outside of the case wasnt a joke

I wouldn't spend $55 on a single fan. But that's just me.

it's also 89mm thick, nearly 4x thicker then a normal 25mm fan so you might have a space issue.

this is true, thats why i said jus ttake off the top 200mm fan and just set this fan on top of the case on top of where the 200 fan was.
