Mass Mailer solution needed.. (i'm not a spamer)

Hi all,

I am looking for a desktop or web-based (php?) mass mailer solution that can send e-mail to ~5000 of my subscribed members. There are many free-trial of commercial software, but any freeware or open-sourced software that can do:

- mass HTML e-mail
- can automatically handle unsubscribe
- can validate if the entry is a valid e-mail address (xxx@xxx.xx)
- if desktop, must run under XP.

Well, you might not consider yourself a spammer, but your ISP might. Many (if not most) ISPs cap the number of emails you can send at a time and will see your repeated sending of the same email to 5K addresses as spam or at least outside their acceptable use policy for a personal account.

Some services like AOL and Yahoo will likely label such a mailing as "junk" and automatically filter them into a spam folder.

You might want to look into using a legit commercial email service. Yes, there are such outfits that work with ISPs to get their services "white listed" and will ensure you comply with all legalities for opt-in/out, etc.

Just to add to that, our company has a in house crm solution (used to use Double Click's UnityMail). Anyway, the project manager for the software would constantly have to fight with AOL and other mail providers. One day you're on the whitelist, the next they blacklist you. Of course, the whitelist and blacklist is maintained by separate groups. There is no coordination between the two, so it's an uphill battle each time you need to get off the blacklist.

I know this all too well as we are in the same boat. :rolleyes:

We use inhouse developed mailing software though.

oh, but right now I'm using SMTP server provided by webhosting...
so i guess that's alright?

Check your terms of service before you proceed. This kind of activity could be prohibited by you provider.
 
ok, i tried dadamail, but it doesn't run correctly...

I'm now looking a commercial solution, please help!

I need:
- bulk e-mail support, import from txt
- manage bounce and unsubscription
- with built in smtp server (nice, ISP hasn't blocked port 25)
