Check this out. These are the unofficial release dates according to EB. In particular, look at March. That's crazy.

January:

Test Drive Unlimited 2
Dead Space 2
Two Worlds 2

February:

Brink
Drakensang 2
Driver San Francisco
Portal 2 - EDIT now delayed to April 18
Bulletstorm

March:

Deus Ex Human Revolution
Dragon Age 2
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
The Witcher - EDIT now delayed to May 17
Shogun 2 Total War
Crysis 2
Fear 3
The Sims Medieval
Homefront
Ghost Recon Future Soldier

So I guess that March is the new October. I haven't even listed every title. Hopefully Fable 3 will be in there as well. And hopefully we'll be getting some New Vegas DLC.

lol only 2 games in march i would even look at. shogun 2 total war and fear 3. rest of the games i dont care about.

Interested in Portal 2, although I forsee it only being about 2 hours of entertainment so that wont hold my attention for very long. Dragon age 2 has been consolized so I'm assuming right now that it's going to more or less suck. FEAR 3 looks quite neat I actually enjoyed the cinematic nature of FEAR 2 despite its console feel it did OK.

Deus Ex Human Revolution looks really cool from what little i've seen, hard to say how that will go, hopefully well. If they can fix the boring combat in The Witcher 2 then I'll probably be in for a copy of that. Assassins creed might be tempting depending on Ubis stance on DRM this time around, if they're keeping this stupid DRM that game can FOAD. Crysis 2, mixed feelings on that, have to wait and see I think.

The Witcher 2 and Portal 2 are VERY exciting to me. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood also, sorta.

The Witcher 2.

BRiNK - I need a good arena shooter (until RAGE).

Dead Space 2 - Think I'll get this for the xbox; Saves me having too bitch about no AA, lo-rez textures etc on the PC :D

I wonder if 2011 will be the last big game releases for the PS3/360?

2010 was the year the 360 died for me. Red Dead Redemption was such an ugly pixelated mess that I forgot about it completely.

Deus Ex
Shogun
Test Drive 2
Brink
Possibly Driver San Francisco (any racing game that takes place in that gorgeous city will always grab my interest)

Also, not 100% sure, but there will be quiet a few MMO's coming out like The Old Rebublic (which tbh my enthusiasim as dimished quite a bit because its graphics look more dated than WoW and there doesn't seem to be any real PVP except low IQ arena shit).

Crysis 2 is being made multi platform, ergo it isn't going to be ground breaking at all in the graphics department (is it even using DX11?).

Nice a few games that I'm looking forward to. Not sure which ones I'll be picking up. Most likely Portal 2, AC: Brotherhood, DS2, and Witcher 2. Beyond that a lot of games will depend upon how well they turn out.

Q4 of every year used to be the big release window for most big games but now every manufacturer is running from the yearly Call of Duty game...so Q1 is now what Q4 used to be

Fear 3 ? Meh. Better be better than the last one.

Crysis 2 ? Cant tell yet. If it's not consolized, then yes.

Anyone notice only one of those games in March isn't a sequel/series?

Deus Ex Human Revolution (sure buy) >>> Dragon Age 2 > Witcher 2 >>> Fear 3 (will give it chance) in that order for me.

Lol, you're right! Well, two (Homefront and Brink).

I'll be playing every game on that list except maybe Ghost Recon (unless it has good co-op).

the thing is San Fransisco was already done back in 2002 with Midtown Madness 2. so lets hope the graphics save the game because midtown madness 2 was fun as hell launching cars off the hills at 150+ mph. or flying down the roads in a bus and launching them off the hills.

Brink, Homefront, Portal 2, Deux Ex, Dragon Age 2, Crysis 2, Ghost Recon FS & F.E.A.R 3 are relevant to my interests.

Though hopefully by that time more info/footage will be released about BF3 and Rage Multiplayer.

Yep, March will be a gaming orgasm for me.

Deus Ex (drool), DA 2 (super drool), Crysis 2, The Witcher 2 (I need new undies), Portal 2, and Ass Creed all peak my interest.

Company's cashing in on the Christmas giftcard market -- get GC for Christmas, buy games in Q1

Test Drive 2

Wow, the year's going to start with a real whimper...

I thought Portal 2 was set for Feb 7th? did they change it? god damn it

That was probably Feb 7th 2009. With Valve time, it's sometimes hard to keep track of it all, year after year after year.

I checked again Tolyngee and its 2011

IGN: Release Date: February 9, 2011
Wiki: Release Date: February 9, 2011
Gametrailers: Release Date: 2/9/2011

Can't find a single site that says March...I'm not arguing I just want to play the game already

Your sarcasm detector failed you. I thought my comment on "Valve time" made it clear what I was saying, though.

Meanwhile at valve...

Failed yes but really how many times have they not been on time in the last 2 years?

They did push Portal 2 back from Oct? to Feb
I remember like 20 Valve Employees playing L4D2 at 1AM (was suppose to unlock at 12 but it didn't)
Episode 3
Steam for MAC I think was pushed back

I see your point...

I was just checking out the screenshot thread -- how are people playing Two Worlds II already? That game looks like it could be awesome!

edit: Bah, Europe release... that can't be good for sales :(

As a huge fan of these title, I'm looking forward to
Portal 2
Crysis 2
Test Drive Unlimited 2

I don't like what I've seen so far with FEAR 3, but will definitely keep an eye on it.

Great games but I really must say: I've seen this in gaming for years where you have this seemingly deliberate overglut of game releases in a very short amount of time. March and October seem to be the two months in the year where this really happens a lot and it just never made a lot of sense to me.

October kind of makes sense. You get the initial rush of sales in October then, before the lull hits, December comes with another surge of sales. The double tapping offsets any potential loss from sales to other competing games. Plus there really isn't too much competition between games devs. Sure there are times where a person must choose where to put his only $50 on, but a lot of times it ends up different where people who want both get both and not a "this game or the other" dilemma.

Spring though... I'm not sure. Is early summer (school's out) another time when game sales spike? It does seem to be smart to release games a couple months before general game sales spike.

The Witcher 2 is my #1 by miles. Wouldn't be surprised if that's my GOTY.
According to a pre-order update email from Amazon, TDU2 has been pushed (again) to February, but I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere else.
Apart from those, I might give Two Worlds, Crysis and FEAR a look, but I don't have high hopes for the last 2. I wouldn't piss on Dead Space 2 if it was on fire.

Dead Space 2
Portal 2
Deus Ex
Dragon Age 2
Homefront

Goddamn my wife's going to murder me lol
