I would say this started once I got a new Western Digital 120gig 8mbit cache. The first thing that happend was it didn't show up. Now I realize that it was a dud, so I will be sending it in. But before this happend, I reformatted, sadly my xp disk was ruined and I was not able to complete the format until I visited my cousins. After which the problems with being unable to detect the hardrives ended. Now the first time I had windows on this machine it kept trying to dual boot, so I decided to reformat once more and fix this problem. The next thing that happend was i the inablity to detect my keyboard, I tried two different keyboards, one came up with the message it was locked, the other wasn't detected. I managed to get one of the keyboards up. but before I could reinstall I made another mistake and it was no longer read.


I could use any help available.


my PC specs are an AMD 2100+, 512 corsair, asus a7n8x deluxe.
 
I was afaird of that, i'm going to test this out a couple more times, If all fails hopefully i'll be up by the end of the month, if not i'll be back later today.
 
You should try to reseat everything. You might have bumped something while installing the new drive. Usualy spastic problems come from bad ram, and lose connections....
