Newbie here.

Looking at a new 7970, anything against the Gigabyte OC? Seems like a good partner for my MSI (Can't get another, they don't sell them anymore).
Gigabyte runs at 1000MHz
MSI at 1010Mhz, otherwise they have the same stats

Thanks,
Bob

In my experience with Gigabyte, it was an exercise in frustration getting a customer service rep who could understand English, but once I did, they were great to work with. One of my 6950's from a while ago came missing a screw for the heatsink, I called them up and once I got someone who understood what I wanted they next-day'd me a bag of them.

For the clock speeds, you can just overclock the one or underclock the other.

Sounds good. I should have bought 2 when I got my first 7970, but wither way I'll be good.

Now I just hope they don't send me the Rev 2 (Non reference) PCB card.

MSI has a 3 year serial based warranty, so if you decide to buy used you should still have warranty. I believe ASUS does too. Just throwing that out there if you want to somehow get a second hand MSI card.

I've had great experience with a Gigabyte motherboard. Dunno about their GPUs, I would assume it's all under the same system.

Well, I jumped and got the Gigabyte, should get here tomorrow. Probably won't xfire them for a while. dedicate one to folding and play games with the other(or so I hope).
