Mandrake 10?

I have just installed Mandrake 10 on an old computer, i'am new with Linux and trying to learn what i can from tutorials. How would i create an FTP server? Basically i want to leave this computer on all the time, when i'm @ remote locations i would like to ftp to that computer and access some files? Would that be possible? Would i be hard for a newbie?, and what/how would i do this?
