Hey. I was wondernig if anyone knew of an application that i can use to manage network configurations. Most of these devices are either Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and some load balancers (kemp, F5). all of these devices have either SSH access. I heard of a product that can manage cisco configs on the fly and version them on a schedule basis.

Solar Winds makes some product for managing Cisco devices. It's part of thier tool kit.

There's a plugin for Cacti that does this.

As for inventory of the devices, try Rancid.

Kiwi tools has one for cisco devices. I think they have a free version for managing up to 3 devices.

For the big cisco shops, theres always ciscoworks.

RANCID. Its free, huge ISPs everywhere it, and it totally rocks.
