I've been trying to figure out why my PPD dropped over the last few days. Wouldn't you know that one of my pair of 8800GS cards over at my friend's place that's been folding for ages at 1836mhz shaders decided it didn't want to fold at that anymore. It was EUEing constantly. So I dropped it one 54mhz step and it started folding away. Then my moron behind closed my main rig's 2 GPU instances and forgot to restart them when I was gone all day. I still pulled 24,000PPD today, so I think things should look rosy tomorrow!

My rig restarted itself shortly after I went to bed two nights in a row, so I lost 8-10 hours of folding.

For you that is a lot, I'm sure you don't have a bunch of PCs folding at the PPD level you are going at. It was still a lot for me considering that I normally pull ~30,000-37,0000 PPD. I also need to check and see if my other friend's PC is folding right. Being that it's getting cold, it should fold right again. If not, he needs a new power supply. I never put much trust in the Antec NeoPower series that he has. I heard of lots of problems with that specific series, especially with the Asus motherboard he's using.

Yeah, it meant 2 days of 1k instead of my normal 4200ish. I however, am looking at getting an overclockable motherboard for my main gaming rig, and putting the ole P6N diamond to use as a dedicated folder. Currently, all I run is a standard client and a GPU client. As for the GPU, all I say it, thank god for lifetime warranties because I've seen temps of 88C at factory OC settings when I fold and game at the same time.

My 8800 GTS 640 SSC 640meg gets up to 81C sometimes with the fan LOCKED at 100% in my case OPEN. If I close it, the card will overheat and start slowing down.

My DSL has been out for the last 3 days. My PPD sucks right now.

Eekers city  I have a heart attack (only kidding :p) everytime my PNY 8800GT gets above 60c. I have the fan locked at 100% and an additional 120mm fan (low voltaged) blowing directly on the front of the card.

Sides, what are sides, "we don't need no stinkin' sides". I'm at home so my cases are always open. Of course it does stifle my WC'ed Antec 900 some :D

Folding and WCGing for the CURE

huh when i had my 8800gts 320 OC it would get up to around 80C when playing video games  but never overheated and my case is pretty well ventilated too

if you thought you PPD sucked... my production has changed from 300k > 40k! The circuit breaker must of tripped again, gonna have to wait for a few hours more before I head off to work and check the PCs

I shut everything down when I went on vacation last week. Went to 0!!! Then I spent part of yesterday setting up a Dual Boot XP/Vista on my sig rig.

I'm back now and hopefully within the next couple of weeks will have some boxen coming.

I took a couple months off from folding, just starting to get things back up now. Should have around 20k-30k ppd when I have everything running again.
