Malaysian authorities crush 1,069 crypto mining rigs with a steamroller

The real story here isn't "Malaysian Gov't cracking down on crypto!" like the regurgitated article tries to spin, but that the Antminers (ASICs) in question were too old to beat the cost of electricity anymore, so the government made a calculation to destroy them because they realized (poor) people would just dig them back out of landfills and hook them up again in power-stealing configurations. That's the only way they could be run since they're so outdated. They also weren't worth "$2 million" dollars, that's B.S.

There's always more to these clickbait crypto headlines, and the actual story behind the story is usually less sensational than hack writers will try to spin it. Especially when it involves "something-something-government" and "....shuts down mining" you have to take with grain of salt.
