Ok so I'm switching from whats in my sig to an intel based platform. Just wondering what you would say would be the best upgrade. I need sometihng good for gaming as well as multi-processing, but mostly gaming. Not too expensive but not crappy either, and I'll need a good mobo as well. :)

I bought a e6300, a Gigabyte DS3, and Patriot 667 RAM DDR2. All of those parts are under $200 a piece. I am really pleased with mine. I am currently running at 400 x 7 for 2.8GHz. Not the highest overclock their is, but it is a huge leap from my old Socket A at 2.2GHz.

I bought all the parts from Newegg. I ended up spending about $760 or so for everything I needed. I already had the soundcards and hard drive and DVD Reader, but I bought everything else. One of the best $760 I've ever spent.

Right on I'll look into that, that sounds like a pretty cheap deal too
