Hey, guys. My current set-up is a main PC (2.66 C2D, 2GB of DDR2, 9800 GTX OC'd to 738 MHz IIRC) and, well, I don't like keeping it on due to power reasons. I have a much older much slower PC that I use for networking / using it as a server / downloading.
Anyway, I was mulling over my options to make it more comfortable.
I thought of one of those devices that allows you to use one set of keyboard / mouse and then switch between PC1 and PC2. But, I like working with what I have.
So I took apart a spare keyboard that I had and figured out how it works. (it's actually really cool if you haven't done it.) I want to cut the keyboard in half and angle it on my desk

Since this picture I upgraded my 2x 17" CRTs to 1x 24" LCD... which I don't regret at all.
However, you can kind of see the curvature of the desk. I want to make a metal plate (don't worry about that part, I can do that) and then cut the keyboard panel in half.
The only problem is the ribbons. I guess I could use some 30AWG wire and solder it... but that wouldn't look too good. Does anyone know how I could make ribbons or even where I could buy a single strip of ribbon?
And do you think this is a good idea to begin with?
