Hi all,

I'm looking for a way to make the "My Network Places" on the start menu open as a menu rather than a link. On my home network, my girlfriend and I share share quite a few folders for various tasks, and I'd much prefer to have it open as a menu so I can select the folder; I don't like the way it opens a new explorer window containing the folders.

Anyway, you can't customize it that way in the Start menu properties, and there is no mention of it in TweakUI. Does anybody know of any "hack" or perhaps registry edit/something to make this a menu rather than a link?

Thanks!

I run mine in classic start menu style and this is how I did it:

Right click start button and select properties
Select classic start menu (Under start menu tab) and click customize
Under "Advanced start menu options", click "Expand network connections"
Click ok, ok again and that should do it.

Hope that's what you are looking for.

Not quite, but thanks.

I want to be able to expand "My network Places," which is a list of shared folders on the network, not "My network connections," which shows your ethernet connection, wireless connection, etc...

I'm almost positive I remember there being a way to do this, but now I can't seem to remember or find it. Maybe I'll just hang it up and live with it.

Thanks.
