Making blowhole ... noise levels?

I am about to add a 120mm fan to the top of my case and i was wondering if making the hole too small or too large would have an effect on the amount of noise i would get

any help would be appreciated

I used one of the "coasters" that AOL mailed to me as a template for the hole, a CD makes for a perfect sized template for a 120mm fan. Use your fan grill to plot out where to cut the holes to mount the fan. If you cut the hole too big, it will just look silly, and if the hole is too small, you will not only be creating a bit of noise, but you will also be restricting air flow.....which will be the cause of the noise. After you cut your hole, you can use a piece of automotive door edge molding to trim the hole to give it a nice clean look.
