MakeMKV site is down and I was wondering if anyone on here had the newest version. Mine is out of date and I rented Avengers age of ultron and I really wanna watch it and the DRM is so ridiculous my player wont run BDs anymore because of the always changing DRM.

If no one can get me a copy I think i'll have to try a trail on anyBD or whatever.

Does anyone also know why their site is down?

1.9.2 is the newest I have. Doubt it would work on that movie yet though. There was a giveaway for dvdfab passkey that had an update yesterday that should work. pm me an email and i'll send it your way with instructions to activate.

Does anyone know the latest 1.9.6 beta key?

Anyone know what's going on?

The site is now showing a default page.

Before the site went down, I was getting capacity errors in the forums. I'm wondering if the site was hit with a DOS attack or something like that.

Before the site went down, the topic of discussion in the forums was the new version - 1.9.6 - and the accompanying new beta key, which wasn't working, even with changing the date. The post said the new key was good until November 2015, but I noticed that the key was the same key as I had from back in August, and so I wondered if that was why it wasn't working with the new release.

I hope the site comes back soon. I'm definitely going to register and buy the program. Losing access to the program because of the beta cycle expiration when something like this happens sucks.

how do you get a beta key?

The beta key was provided to everyone in a thread on the makemkv forums (which are down because the site is down). If I remember correctly, on its own, the software would run for 30 days, and the beta key extended that period to 60 days. After the time was up, you had to download a new version, because they were always releasing updated versions.

As I mentioned previously, the beta key won't do you any good anymore, because the software versions expire, and it seemed there was a problem with the latest beta key - so there's no way to run the software as it stands.

Not true. While the website limps it's way back from the dead, you can still get the latest 1.9.6 to work. The following was posted at AVS Forum and I just tried it myself and it works.

From user "nickbuol" from AVS posted about an hour ago:

FYI that the temporary fix for using MakeMKV is:
1) Open up the latest 1.9.6 (there are links and mirrored sites with it if you don't have it).
2) In the settings of the application, click Register.
3) Put in the latest code that was on their site from before it crashed: T-enjldn6xWuxoS7TOUjAWw_PfjImd1QBwqYUWkTjOJktyineQPAVv2WB3t7LzYH2qLn
4) It will accept it and ask to restart the program.
5) SHUT DOWN MAKEMKV (do NOT start it again.. Yet)
6) Change the date on your computer to something in September
7) Launch MakeMKV and it will work. (Currently ripping my Steelbook version of Age of Ultron, so it works fine).
Don't forget to change the date back after you are done. It looks like the key that wasn't supposed to expire until November 1 ended up expiring October 1.

where are mirrors for that because i couldn't find a sit that i knew and trusted.

EDIT: Site is back up

EDIT2: well the file isn't on the server for some reason...mirror?

They're having some issues it appears, both with the main domain for the site as well as the forums and other aspects, give it a few days and see what happens.

"Patience... in all things..." is a good idea in this case, could just be some server issues, who knows.

As others have noted, site is back up. And version 1.9.7 is now available along with a new beta key.
