Major XP Startup Trouble

I believe my PC just contracted one of the most insidious viruses known to man. When I start up my PC, my system just hangs indefinitely right after the "Starting Windows XP" screen goes away. When I try going into safe mode, I have ~10 seconds in which to do things before explorer.exe (and anything/everything else) gets closed, and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete, log off, and log back in to get another 10 seconds (starting fresh, of course). Also, the virus has disabled Task Manager and the Run window (Start->Run), so I can't close the EXE before it does its thing. Finally, when I try to do System Restore, I can't see any restore points other than an entry for today's date 4 years ago (which I think is really a restore point I made today), that doesn't even work.

People of the [H], I come to you needing help, as I don't have my XP install CD with me at the moment (left it at home accidentally during college move-in), and I need to get this working again.
