I have this problem with my ram. It boots up in windows and all but when i try to play any game it crashes. When my games started to crash i formated my harddrive and reinstalled windows xp pro sp1. and i get the samething and my friend its a ram problem. SO what can i do to fix my ram. B/c i dun really want to buy a 512 stick b/c ram is fuckign epensive and i only have 40 bucks right now. What can i do?

Use memtest86 to check if your RAM has problems. If it does, it's time to call Crucial and have them replace your RAM (they are very good with customer service).

If it isn't, I'd point at one other thing first: overheating.

According to your sig, the memory is overclocked....which could be causing problems. Crucial does not overclock well. If the memory is defective, have it replaced. Also, learning to type in clear concise sentences will help us understand what your asking.

Look i don't have my CPU overclocked anymore. Its all stock. I've had this memory for about a year. Is there anything i can do besides buy new ram?

And when i overclocked before it ran perfectly fine. I but it at stock about 2 months ago. So nothign was overclocked and then yesterday this happens. Any solutions?

Are you going to run Memtest to see if it's bad, or are you going to keep ignoring the best advice posted? If it's bad, Crucial will replace it...FOR FREE. A little reading never killed anyone.

Where are you getting that his processor is overclocked from? Was it listed in the sig previously, because it sure isn't now. If the situation in sig is true, then your RAM would be running in-sync with the FSB.

Yes, it was listed before in his sig....where do you think we got it from? And the bigger issue is the fact he's ignoring the advice to run Memtest, and still clinging to the wild idea he HAS to buy new RAM. People who ask for advice than ignore it, don't deserve the help.

RUN MEMTEST ALREADY!!
jeez man...listen to people if you want help, asking for help and then not following the advice is just stupid.

And FYI, Crucial will replace RAM for FREE, even if you overclocked it, they just own like that :D

Yes, please run memtest86.

In the time since this thread has started, you could've tested out the RAM, and if it produced errors, called Crucial, received an RMA number, and have shipped your RAM off.

Remember, memtest86.

If you have already done so, results?

I burned it to an image and went into bios and select boot from cdrom and nothing comes out how do i ru this program?

Did you burn it correctly? It should have been an ISO image already, so it should be burned as an image and not a data file.

With an ISO image, you can't just put the file in your NERO (or whatever you use) and click burn. You have to choose "burn image" from a menu and then select the ISO file to get it to work.

Ok i rant the program and it found no error:confused: . WEll is there anything else this is making my computer do this. Could it be my video card, motherboard, or Harddrive if anyone has any suiggestions please post or IM me on aim.

How long did you run it for? I had dodgy ram that didnt show until after several hours of testing.

Run it for a day and see if anything comes up, otherwise it's something else.

It might have passed in the short run, but can it last 24 hours of it? Pinpointing the problem is a major hassle, but you gotta do it (at least, I'd think you'd have to do it)
