Major problems with GeCube PCI-E X800XL

Hi.
On Wednesday I bought a new GeCube Radeon X800XL 256mb PCI-E card and since then I have been having major problems.
Everything was fine until I installed the drivers from the GeCube CD and rebooted.
The POST screen had small, regular dotted lines all over it on the first screen. They then dissapeared for the following two screens (SATA array detection and verify DMI pool data). They then re-appeared when windows was loading. They do not appear when navigating the BIOS.
When Windows has loaded, it has two large blocks of lines over certain parts of the screen. After a few seconds of being loaded, it locks up then flashes the 'Blue Screen of Death' for a split second, not long enough to read. It then reboots the computer.
I was able to photograph the BSOD with my camera while taking photos of the other lines. It says that the error was caused by ATi's drivers drivers.
I don't think the lines are artefacts, the card is not overheating and they are the same every time. It could be the drivers, but I've tried different versions including catalyst 5.4. The symptoms are different for 5.4, the screen is blank once XP has loaded until it flashes the BSOD and reboots.
The computer boots and runs fine if it is in Safe Mode or VGA Mode.
I tried a PCI video card that I had lying around and it works fine, no lines or locking up, unless the Radeon is also running, then it has problems again.
The blocks of lines seen in XP are also visible when running Linux Live from a CD.
Here are some photos:
First POST screen
Following screen without lines
BIOS looking fine
Windows loading
Windows XP
Windows XP Close
The two glitchy areas aswell as the X800 error before it locks up

Yeah that's what I though, but I tried a different PSU and it didn't change anything.

Did the new power supply have more watts than the old one, or did it have less watts? It is recommended that you have at least a 350 watt power supply.

Yeh i agree, it probably is the power supply. A quality 350 watt power supply is recommended. How many amps are on your 12v EvMaster, just incase you might not know where to find this, it should be printed on the side of your PSU.

EvMaster:

I had this exact same problem with my old Radeon 9800SE. After examning the card, I came to find that there were damaged foils, a missing capacitor and a missing resistor from the card. Both the capacitor and the resistor actually exploaded off of the card, only tiny burn marks that were viewable through a magnifying glass were left. Although the card still worked, the performance was horrid and artifacting was evident except in the BIOS and the boot screen that you showed.

Sadly, my card was irreparable without God-Given surface mount-soldering skills as well as not having a schematic. I would recommend that you examine your card with a magnifying glass to see if there are evident marks of damage to your card.

EDIT: Should've read the whole thread. Good luck with your new card.
