Major Problem!

Ok, so I left my fully functioning computer a few minutes to get a bite from the fridge and I come back to a major error when I look back. I didn't see what happened, save for my computer window was in safe mode it looked like and I had a small popup saying that Windows recovered from a serious error and I needed to reboot.

I restarted it and I am getting an error message saying that NTLDR is missing and it prompts me to reboot. Anyone know what this message means?

well NTLDR is a boot file that is required for windows to boot.

It can mean a couple of things.

- Bad harddrive
- Corrupt partition/boot record
- Bad Windows install

Try booting into the recovery console and run fixboot and fixmbr

That *might* help.

Otherwise you might have to re-install/reformat.

You should also run a disc diagnostic program for your HD.

Cheers,
