I'm expecting a nib oem e6400 tomorrow that I got from ebay. Obviously, I'm hoping for B revision, but it'll probably be A. What's the average o/c difference between these? I recall seeing a general list in the big database topic, but don't recall a distinction between the two revisions. I wonder if it'd possibly be worth selling nib, or at least waiting until overclocking it to find out (which I won't be able to do for quite a while until a good matx board comes out), and then if finding out it doesn't do well, sell used at a much lower cost since it'd probably be Jan/Feb. Any striking news?

I'm expecting to get to around 2.7 with the current board, and later going to 3.5-3.6, and obviously 3.2-3.4 at the very least for a A stepping. Cheers :)

hmm i just looked more closely at the oc database and it seems clear that the b versions do much better on average, although there are much fewer of those in the database. I just received mine. I haven't opened the box yet, but the seller took the box and wrapped it in a paper bag like one from a supermarket and shipped it. The box is pretty dented up, although I don't think it'll affect the cpu (maybe fan if anything). The seals are all intact and everything, but there appears to be like two scuff marks on the ihs, almost as if the processor were used before. Good grief.

looks like the B cores are from week 628

I have an A that oc's great.

I think its more a difference for me of even wanting to run the chip at 1.4875V+ for my 24/7. I am much happier running 3.2 or 3.4 with tight memory timings.

I think there are good and bad oc'ers but these haven't been out long enough to make a clear determination about weeks or codes.
