Major audio problems!

Lately I've been having two big audio problems with both my mic, and my speakers

Mic: No matter what I do, I always get incredible amounts of reverberating echo feedback. This is on a headset, so the speakers are unplugged and turned off. It gets louder and softer as I turn the bass knob on my subwoofer up and down, even when the sub is turned off. This happens with two different mics, and only happens on this computer. I can't try the onboard sound, as that doesn't seem to want to work for me. This also happened on my old motherboard. This problem started around Christmas when I got both a new soundcard and a set of speakers.

Speakers: Every now and then I will get a strange sound coming from the center speaker/subwoofer area. It sounds reminiscent of a phone if you switch it from touch-tone to pulse, or what it sounds like if you have your cellphone next to a set of speakers and receive a call. It always comes in a set pattern, and that pattern is the same 80% of the time. It comes in at the same volume regardless of the speaker volume, but I am not sure if it comes in when it is off. This happens at all hours, and has happened probably around 16-17 times since 6 last night. This just started happening within the past week or two.


Any ideas?

P.S. I have a set of Logitech x530 speakers.
 
Mute the Mic in the playback mixer and see what you get.
there is also a known issue with the Mic input on the Santa Crud but your issue has a different symptom so....
 
What is the issue? I may as well work from there. My current guess is incorrect shielding on the subwoofer though, as it seems to have a direct relation with the bass boost on the sub, regardless of whether the speakers are on or not.
 
You unplugged the speakers and the bass adjustment for them still affects the headphones? :confused:
 
Update: I unplugged my sub and moved it to the other side of the room. I unplugged my speakers from my computer. I plugged in the headset/mic. There was a buzzing sound and I still got feedback. I think we can definatly say my sound card is screwed up.
