Okay. I've had my dRebel for almost a year and a half now. Friday i was shooting a volleyball game, and about five minutes into the game i decided that i needed a little bit of an ISO boost. So i push the ISO speed set button and go to rotate the dial right behind the shutter button (what Canon calls the "Main Dial") and nothing happens. As most of you probably know, it should only take one 'click' of the dial to change from ISO 100 to ISO 200. But it took me five clicks to just get to 200. I didn't think much about it just then, but when i tried to go from 200 -> 400, the dial was just unresponsive. Totally. I cannot use it to change my ISO, shutter speed, aperture, or even to look through the photos that i've taken. Nada. I've tried:
-taking out all of the batteries
-resetting the camera's settings
-using the main dial in all modes
-using the dial on my vertical grip
and nothing works. I have not tried re-loading the camera's firmware, so if anyone thinks that might be a good idea, let me know. Basically, i'm just asking if anyone else has had this kind of trouble before. I use my camera every day here at college, and so i really really want to avoid sending it in for repair unless it's the only option i have left. Does anyone know anything that might help?
