Magazines on new iPad low quality

I decided to subscribe to Maxim since I'll deploying here in a couple days wanted something to read over there. I noticed the quality is really low. I'm guessing it's still in the iPad 2 resolution.

Anyone know if they plan on updating the resolution? Makes reading kinda hard...

Zinio recently updated their app.

I downloaded an issue over the weekend and it looked "iPad 2" terrible.

I downloaded one today and it looked much better.

the new iPad just came out. It's going to take a while for all app devs and magazines to adjust to the new high resolution.

There was talk of this stuff on one of the latest 5by5 podcasts. Basically magazines really don't seem to be doing this right. Sending pictures of text? Having a magazine download be hundreds of MB? The conclusion was that whatever design software for the magazine in use must have an export to file feature and they just do that, zero effort put into the digital version.

same thing with the "cpu" magazine app.

great tech magazine though and it is free. i think hardocp's kyle used to have a column in it.
