I just installed a Crucial M500 480gb msata ssd in my yoga 11s
Bios sees drive okay. However when I choose the image file off my external Usb drive I don't see the ssd available as a destination drive in restore. All I get is the external usb drive. Why can't I see the Crucial ssd? I was going to use hardware cloning on my Sabrent dual dock but Fed Ex screwed up the delivery of the msata adaptors. I tried legacy boot but the usb recovery only works in uefi mode. Is there something I'm missing here? Also if I try to restore a single partition I get no local disk available message.

any help is appreciated

Wow you have to format the ssd before cloning software will see it!? I would not think it would matter because the image file is going to destroy whatever is on the ssd any way.
I never had to do this with my old version of acronis. I will have to find gparted and initialze
the disk.Hopefully gparted can be installed on a thumbdrive.

so far nothing finally got Gparted up on a usb stick. The drive shows up in bios but only in achi mode. but nothing in Gparted I can only see the usb stick. I am slowly going insane with this The ssd should be visible. I can/t initialize format or nothing. If I can't see in Mancrium I won't be able to clone it from image or the original drive even with adaptors. Last chance will be tomorrow I will try to clone using my Sabrent docks hardware cloning capability. I don't understand why the Crucial is in the bios but not accessible in Macrium or Gparted.
Without the msata adaptors I am stuck.. They should be here tomorrow

Thanks any more ideas I'm open

You know I like the yoga 11s but obviously the bios is messed up and as typical of a company like lenovo There will probably never be a bios update. After reading all the posts in the Lenovo forums with no fix from lenovo I will send the Crucial back to Amazon. I will keep the adaptors though might be usefull later on. I won't waste any more of my time on this.

Glad you showed the Lenovo link..
