Macbook : right price or no?

Hey i just got offered a a macbook black 2.0ghz c2d 80gb hdd 2gb ram for $350.00....I was honestly thinking about buying it and turning it right back around for a profit. Do you think i could get 500 for it?
 
Yes to both prices. I'll bet you could get more than $500 for it, too.
 
Wow... $350... geezus, why can't I land deals like that? Sell it? It's a great little laptop, especially if you put XP Pro x64 on it. :D
 
You could probably get 800 for it...
 
I'd say if you listed it here for $600 you'd sell it for sure. Those are definitely nice little computers, as anyone who owns one will tell you.

Frankly speaking,you should check the item first..
not a negative thinking, but I doubt that the MB is in perfect condition..

Who is insane enough to sell that MB in $ 300?
 
I know it is in great condition because i live in the dorm with him and hes a good friend of mind. I ran a dignostic on it and everything internaly and asetchically looks great. He is selling it to me that cheap cause his parents bought him a new one and he honestly is to lazy to sell it online.

Buy it before he realizes he can sell it for a lot more than what he offered you.
 
That is a great price, so yeah. The laptop is worth like 700. I'd sell it and get an acer one or something and put 300 in my pocket.

Some reason you actually don't want to keep it yourself? No use for it, or you can't stand Macs, or what? Just curious...
 
no i just got a brand new xps m1330 so im gonna sell it prety cheap prolly around 600 or 650 and just make a few hundred. Prolly buy a nice monitor or sumtin
 
Reminds me of the time when I bought an iBook from Best Buy open box for $450.. turned around a year later and sold it for $650 :)

Got myself a nice MacBook now, wouldn't mind getting one of them aluminum MacBooks that just came out.

well if ya want one im selling one haha ....how much could i get for one that only had 512 mb ram like 650?
 
oh god, so it's a core duo? ugh.

just like my first one, that thing was just riddled with problems for me... they replaced it with a penryn 2.4ghz model after they couldn't repair it correctly though; and now i'm at the store with 10-15min left on the data transfer to my 2.4ghz alum macbook that is a replacement of the penryn one because... well... they owe'd it to me, i have another thread with all the details and a link to my blog about the situation and how it was taken care of, or not, or whatever you want to call it.
 
well i mean that may have been your situation but i know this thing is running great i am even putting a new battery in. I have run a couple diagnostics and mem test and all is going great for it.
 
It's a first generation black MacBook and it sounds like a stock model across the board. $500 sounds like a good price, maybe $550, any more than that and you're probably going to be keeping it. It's over 2 years old now (I had one of those almost on the day they came out in 2006) so don't expect miracles, even if it is an Apple laptop.
 
Its not a Core Duo is it? He said C2D in his first post... If it is just Core Duo, that could go down in price... and if you take away the RAM, then it'd probably be at $500.
 
i am sorry for the confusion. The laptop is a Core 2 Duo and it will have 2gb ram so i am hoping to get about 650ish possibly. It is a little less then a year and half old
 
yeah, but you said it had 512mb of ram, which the c2d machines never had, so that was a bit confusing...
 
Post the actual model number and we can figure it out. The MBetcetcetcblahblah number or whatever it should be, like MB06LL/A or whatever the hell it is. That'll get the actual specs from the factory. But since you said 512MB, that was the stock amount of RAM in the first generation MacBooks... and those were Core Duos, not Core 2 Duos. Still a fine laptop, actually, just nowhere near as powerful as a Core 2 Duo, and definitely worth less...

Well i just got some great news....i am brining it in to apple store to see if i can get them to give me anything for free on it. There is nothing wrong with it but under apple care for another 9 months!!. I am going to attempt to get a new battery saying it barely holds a charge. If not i will buy a new one anyways then This bad boy is goin up for sale... I do stand corrected again though...It does have 2gb upgraded ram and is a core duo. You think i can stillg get like 550 for it?>
 
Definitely $550... if I had the money I'd already be signing into PayPal but, alas... another good deal I miss out on. :D
 
Get some pics of it together and send them my way. If I like what I see, I'll send you $550, and you can send me the MacBook :)

(yes, I'm serious -- I could sure use a MacBook for some upcoming classes)
 
Well i am brining it in to apple on saturday just to see if i can get any freebies!! :p possibly an extra battery for the buyer. But i have decided on a final price and i will get everything to gether and get a post up with in 2-3days and will et you all know...in the mean time keep discussin
