How hot is the north bridge suppose to run? I check the temps in a grey screening Mac Pro and it's about 80 degree celsius. I think the screening is because of overheating because it's been working fine for months, without any sort of installs of software and everything is fine permissions and hardware wise. (checked through tests) Any ideas?

80c is very high. Are you sure you're it's Celsius? I run 36c with an ambient of 20c (yes my office is that cool). FYI I'm running an '08 8-core 3.2ghz w/ 16gig ram and 8800gt.

Mac Pro, not MBP. It's a machine at work. I installed iStat pro and iStat menu to see the temps and thats whats being read. And yeah it's in celsius.

So anyways, super hot yes? So hot it could ruin hardware nearby... say ram? Freakin' computer is grey screening like mad too when AI, Quark, Photoshop are open. ( After hours of work anyways )

I posted the panic log on Apple discussion forums and the one reply I got was that it's a memory error.

Here's the panic log if anyone can decipher it. Tell me something different if you think the information I've gotten is wrong. I need all the help I can get.

If you have your install disks you can run diagnostics by placing the DVD in the drive and pressing D during boot. More information can be found here on page 78. Also you can run System Profiler, click Diagnostics to get the results of the last "Power On Self-Test" and "Apple Hardware Test". To check for ECC errors click on "Memory" in System Profiler.

Good luck.

Yeah I did all that and everything comes up nice. I honestly am stumped about it because according to the poster in the Apple forums, the panic log shows that there is a memory error ( or should be anyways ) but the tests come back fine every time. Just going to bring it to the shop and let those guys figure it out.
