Hey All,

Since PPTP has been sunset from OS X Sierra (many of our end users have Macs) they're unable to VPN into the office.

Yes, I know PPTP is an obsolete connection and has its vulnerabilities, so I'd like to move away from it to an SSL version. However, SSTP, to my understanding is not supported in OS X. So what is the best solution for Mac users connecting into a Windows based VPN?

Thanks!

You are absolutely right about the fact that PPTP has been eliminated from OS X now but as much as I know SSTP is still supported and it is pretty much secure to use. In addition, OS X also supports L2TP and OpenVPN too!
I really couldn't figure out what you meant by "best solution for Mac users connecting into a Windows based VPN"?

So the SSTP protocol uses MSCHAPv2 authentication which isn't supported on OS X. Am I mistaken?

Yeah you are right but I think it will work with PAP, correct me if I am wrong?
By the way, what kind of VPN are you using? I meant to ask is it a third party service?

Ah, I'm using Windows RRAS on Server 2012 R2. Sorry, forgot to include that bit in.
