Mac network monitoring app(free is best)

I am trying to help someone who isn`t great with computers see what network traffic is going on (webcam spying apps and such).

The more visual the app is, the better.

That's an interesting app. Thanks. What are the most obvious weaknesses or ways an attacker could circumvent detection by Little Snitch?

You could try wireshark. It's not a visual tool but it's very good.

Little Snitch 3 is probably the best app. A very good free alternative is TCPBlock, but it isn't supported anymore and doesn't work very well under Yosemite.
