want to get a 2 x 2GB kit for my mac mini. new 1.83 Core 2 duo, just bought from apple store. Anyone know where to get the cheapest one? that would really help. thanks

to the best of my knowledge, the mini only supports a maximum of 2gb of memory...so while those *might* work, only 2gb will show in the OS.

re: install- be very, very careful when you install the memory.

I wouldn't bother going for 4gb you won't get any real performance increase. 2gb is about the best for the mini at the moment. 3gb is possible, but in certain situations is slower than 2gb.

The Core Duo Minis only support 2gb. The new Core 2 Duo ones support 3gb max, but with Leopard installed, it will recognize the 4gigs if that's what he gets.

o then the link i posted may work? those sticks with loepard would work?

what is the difference between core duo. and core 2 duo models. both have 1.83 ghz processors.

so is it just the 2.0 addition and a different board then. more memory slots? what is diff between 1/83 CD and 1.83 C2D? thanks

Core 2 Duo is the latest iteration. Core Duo is slightly slower clock for clock and only 32-bit.
