Hello,

I just purchased a mac mini and I hooked it up to my HDTV using a DVI cable. The cable works because the grey apple screen with the circle wait indicator shows. But, when OSX starts to boot. There is problems. Either the refresh rate and/or resolution is wrong. How do I get my TV to work with my mac mini. BTW, im a pc/linux guy and this is my first mac, so I need more instructions than the average mac person.

Boot holding alt, cmd, r and p. That resets the parameter memory storing information about monitor resolution, refresh rate, etc, and should make it work.

Anyway, we should really start an "official Mac mini HDTV thread (sticky)", what with all these threads popping up.

Thanks for the info. When I use that command, it just restarts the box. After the grey apple screen, I still cant see anything.

I did the tree blongs and it had the same result. I fixed the problem by intalling SwitchResX. Then, I figured out a way to change the resolution without seeing the screen. I also used the program to create a special resolution of 1280x720@62 funney thing is that with the dvi cable, the tv manual says that it should be 1280x720@60.
