I was just wondering if it is possible to take memory sticks that shipped with a mac and place it in a PC?

Some people like to get the smallest/cheapest option when configuring a mac, then they buy the max memory from online for much cheaper to save money. The thing is I hate the idea of having memory and just throwing them away. If I could use them elsewhere that would be cool.

Recycling is preferable to tossing an old mac into a landfill. Actually I'm thinking about buying a new mac. Someone gave me his Dell Dimension 4300 and said he doesn't want it. It's totally fine nothing wrong with it. According to Crucial Memory it suggested 2x512 sticks. I don't think I'd be able to put a 1gb stick in there anyways but the question was interesting enough to ask for future reference. I'm considering turning the Dell into a freebsd server.
